18 Taqdir is like this! It cannot change. Are you then challenging Allah who has written this in its Taqdir!? Are you going to oppose Allah when Allah has placed it in this condition? And when this ummah becomes used to and is satisfied with this condition, then oppressors and tyrants will have free reign to do to this ummah whatever they want. Iblis keeps on patting it and feeds it the tranquilizer that all this is happening from God; and he keeps brainwashing it by saying that who could go against God's writing? You know that, in the very beginning of Surah Baqrah, I had mentioned that the story of Adam is really the story of man. The main point of the story is: Adam made a mistake, he committed an error, he had a slip. Iblis, on the other hand, committed a greater transgression. Allah asked Adam why you committed this wrong? Adam accepted responsibility and said: Yes, I did make this mistake. I forgot. I committed error. Thus he did not deny his freedom of choice. He accepted responsibility for his mistake. And, as a consequence, he preserved his human dignity. Making mistake or committing error is one thing. But denying the responsibility for it, is quite another. Allah said: Since you accepted your responsibility and did not deny it, then there is hope for you for your reform. So, We give you chance to reform, to make up for the bad consequences of your mistake. Allah asked Iblis: Why did you commit this wrong? Iblis said: How can I commit wrong, O! Allah? Nothing can happen without your permission. Allah said: You are denying your freedom of choice. You are denying your freewill to act. There is no hope for your reform until the Day of Judgment. It was devilish to transgress. You know that Qur'an has used the word 'Iblis' here which means: Remain disappointed from reform until the Day of Judgment. Iblis means disappointment. Transgression and mistake do happen, but it is okay. But accept your mistake and transgression. Accept your responsibility. Do not deny your freedom of choice and freewill. Then there is hope. According to Iqbal: You are the heavenly tree of Sidrah; do not become the rubbish of the garden You may deny the existence of God; but do not deny the existence of your own self Another name for Taqdir: I am not doing it, Allah is doing If you still do not understand, if you are still not yet ready to believe in God, it does not matter. But do not deny your own self. Denial of your own self means denial of your responsibility; denial of your ability; denial of your freedom of choice; denial of your freewill. That is, it is not me but it is God who is making me do this. And thus, all such beliefs became part of Iman: Allah's will is supreme over everything.
