9 considered unbelief ; and the punishment for this according to this religious Shariah law is death. Think about it! What they call personal laws these were all created by men of that period. They were all created under the tutelage of those bygone kings. They are the reflection of whatever those kings wanted. You know that the Hanafi fiqh is the largest Shariah law. This fiqh has a law that the king (aka Khalifas) cannot be held accountable for any crime except murder. Fiqh laws denigrate woman like lowly objects; allows them to be used as concubines; allows a man to marry four wives; and by saying the word 'Talaaq' three times he can dispense them like throw away objects. The laws like these have been made sacred and kept away from the purview of civil courts. Today there are two kinds of laws in effect Even today you see two kinds of laws in effect. Some are related to running the government and its institutions. These are enforced by the government. And other laws, called Shariah laws, come under the jurisdiction of what are called Shariah courts. These Shariah courts deliver judgments related to people's personal issues. These laws are enacted and enforced with approval of those who run these Shariah courts. Whatever law they call Islamic becomes Islamic. Citizens do not have any say in this. For example, if the husband simply uttered the word 'Talaaq' three times to his wife then they are considered divorced according to this Shariah law. Their Naikah becomes null-and-void. After this, their physical relationship is considered fornication, and any child born is pronounced as being born out of wedlock and result of fornication according to this Shariah. What happened to that freewill granted by Allah? There, you are asked to follow the Qur'anic ordinance only. But, here, the man-made Shariah chained people by its man-made laws and they cannot do anything about it. Even today if an ordinance is issued by the government then to obey it and to act according to it is the law of the land. It is incumbent on all of its citizens to follow it. But, nonetheless, you can criticize it. You can write about it. But if the same ordinance is issued by the Shariah court then you cannot criticize it. Thus, any new ordinance issued now plus the old ones coming down to us from before will become Shariah law in future and no one can touch it. Dear friends! Pay attention! Today's Islam, I would say, is not of today but of one thousand year old and developed after the period of the rightly-guided khalifas. The society that was established according to this Islam was based on capitalism, kingship, and priesthood. These three systems have been there since the beginning,
